Otto Piene’s Feuergouaches embody his radical use of fire and smoke as artistic media. By channeling flames directly onto the surface, he transformed combustion into image, leaving vivid traces of energy and process. These works continue his ZERO investigations, in which elemental forces become both medium and motif.
